There are million discussions about how often people should wash and clean certain items. For instance, if you wash your sheets too often you'll shorten their live. On the other hand, if you wash them seldom, you'll create a nice environment for many germs. In order to keep your home safe and protected, you need to know when to clean and/or wash each of your home items.

Daily Cleaning
Some items must be cleaned on a daily basis. Here's a list with those objects:
Sink and Drain - the kitchen sink is one of the places with the highest concentration of microorganisms in every home. In order to keep it clean and safe, you need to clean it every evening. You only need to wipe down the entire sink and drain using a disinfecting wipe. In addition, once a month clean the drain. Pour one cup of bleach down and flush with hot water. In case, you have a septic system, pour half cup of baking soda followed by a cup of vinegar. Then rinse with hot water
Countertops - use a safe sanitizer to clean countertops and food preparation surfaces before and after use
Phone Receivers - remove all dirt using a disinfect wipe, preferably after every phone call
Weekly Cleaning
Here are the items which need to be cleaned on a weekly basis:
Bed Sheets - sheets should be washed once a week to remove a buildup of dust and sweat. Always use hot water for washing and dryer to kill all bacteria.
Purse - your purse have to be cleaned every week. For leather bags use baby wipes, for vinyl or plastic bags use disinfecting wipes, for cotton bags hand or machine wash in hot water.
Toilet Surface - clean it weekly with wet wipes, and deep clean the toilet once a month
Carpet Cleaning - vacuum carpets on a regular basis, at least once a week

What to clean every month?
Dishwasher - put a cup with vinegar on an empty dishwasher's top rack, run a full cycle using a hot water. When finish with washing, sprinkle a cup with baking soda on the bottom of the tub and run a half cycle with hot water. Don't forget to leave the dishwasher's door open for two-three hours
Computers, especially Keyboards - 10 percent of people never clean their keyboard. Unfortunately, the keyboard is one of the dirtiest appliances. In order to keep bacteria kitchen trash cabinet and dirt away, you need to disinfect your keyboard. Disconnect it from your desktop computer, or turn off your laptop, then pour a rubbing alcohol onto a rag and wipe down the keyboard. You can use compressed air to blow out small pieces
Long-Term Cleaning
I'd advice you to hire a local cleaning company to perform these cleaning chores. This way, you'll save time and know that the job is performed in the best possible way. Oven Cleaning - twice a year, if your oven doesn't have a self-clean function. Remove racks and wash them with hot water and dishwasher soap
Window Cleaning - inside and out, twice a year. Start cleaning with a sponge and a solution of dishwashing liquid. After you wash them, use newspapers and window cleaner to completely clean them. Spray interior and door with oven cleaner, let set for three-four hours and wipe clean
Window Screens - once a year, when warmer weather arrives, take off and clean window screens. You can clean them using a sponge and a homemade cleaning solution of ammonia and water, or window cleaner. Let screens air-dry
Mattress Cleaning - you need to clean your mattress twice a year. First vacuum the top of the mattress, to remove stains use a cloth damped in water and upholstery shampoo
Bed Pillows - pillows need to be cleaned every season (three-four months). Before you put pillows in the washer, check if they can be machine washed and dried. If it's allowed, wash two pillows together on gentle cycle, with hot water. Run pillows through rinse cycle twice
